Kylie Minogue feels her ARIA award validates her career. Kylie Minogue The 'All The Lovers' hitmaker was inducted into the Australian Record Industry Association (ARIA) Hall of Fame over the weekend, and said she is glad of the recognition after her career has suffered ups and downs. She said: "There has been a period in my career, more than one I'd say, where things are low and things aren't going the way you hoped they would go. "I had a non-conventional start in this industry and it wasnt to everyone's liking. Being here and being acknowledged is really kind of something, it's amazing. "I understand that when I started, I hadn't earned my stripes but I think I've got them now." Kylie Minogue has been inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame. The Australian singer, who is best known for hit singles such as 'Better the Devil You Know' and 'Spinning Around', accepted the award on stage at the 25th anniversary of the annual music awards in Sydney last night. After being inducted by Prime Minister Julia Gillard , Minogue told the audience that she felt "amazement [that she is] still here [plus] gratitude, humility, wonderment and pride". She thanked her long-term manager Terry Blamey, mentor Michael Gudinski and boyfriend Andres Velencoso , saying: "My boyfriend Andres... is in love with this country... you've made him feel very welcome." Minogue admitted that her parents Ron and Carol had chosen to stay at home in Melbourne and watch the awards ceremony on TV, saying: "I invited them, but they don't like to make a fuss."
