Singles hit for Macklemore & Lewis

US rapper Macklemore and Ryan Lewis have landed their third consecutive No.1 single in Australia as Can't Hold Us rises one place to take out the top spot on this week's ARIA Singles Chart. Not since Kylie Minogue in 1987/88 (with Locomotion, I Should Be So Lucky and Got to Be Certain) has an act had their first three singles all go to No.1. A year ago Passenger' Let Her Go made the Top 100 for a single week at No.90. The same week a year later the song returns to the charts at No.56, last week it jumped to No.23, but this week it zooms up 21 places to No.2 thanks to his current tour Down Under. Passenger's album All the Little Lights returns to its original entry position of No.9 this week too. After four broken weeks at No.1, Pink and Nate Ruess fall back three places to No.3 with Just Give Me a Reason, and falling back one place to No.5 is Rihanna and Stay. In between the girls are the duo of MKTO who leap up six places to No.4 with Thank You, while James Arthur is d...

Dannii Minogue: I used to feel awkward and ugly before I had a baby

Dannii Minogue has revealed that she once suffered from a severe lack of self-esteem. The former X Factor judge, who is mum to two-year-old Ethan , used to dread having her picture taken as she always felt unattractive. I used to be the most petrified person when I had to do photo shoots because I had no confidence,' says Dannii , 41. I hated my legs - I would only wear jeans or long dresses - and I felt awkward and ugly. And the only thing that changed that was when I was pregnant, I thought, "I am so beautiful, I feel so good about myself." And I have felt confident ever since.' Dannii , who split from Ethan's dad Kris Smith last year, was surprised by how much she loved being pregnant. When you are in the public eye you are ultra-conscious of your shape,' Kylie's little sister tells You Magazine. And I thought pregnancy would be awful, that I would become huge and hate my body even more. Instead I blossomed because I felt I was doing something spec...

Don't try to write your own songs: Cathy Dennis's wise advice to One Direction

Now Cathy Dennis has offered some words of advice to One Direction and warned writing their own songs would be a "kiss of death". The award-winning songwriter - who penned Britney's Toxic and Kylie's Can't Get You Out of My Head - thinks the boy band will want to show they are credible artists at some point in order to boost their incomes. But she thinks turning away from the established team of writers behind them could prove fatal for their careers. She told The Sun: "It will be expected that they will write their own songs at some point. "Someone is going to say, 'Hang on, the royalties coming in from just singing are not enough'. "The guys who wrote What Makes You Beautiful are millionaires. "But if 1D started writing their own songs it could be the kiss of death, let's face it. I am not going to advocate that. "To emulate the Rolling Stones - you can't have that overnight. "I would not expect them to come out with...

You will never get rid of that. "I used to get a little bit angry with her, because she would not be where she is today if it weren't for her start on this show. "It's a bit of give and take. Don't ever bite the hand that feeds.'' But he added: "Bless Kylie because sh...
