Minogue has apparently split from her long-term manager Terry Blamey, who helped launch her career.
"Kylie's decision to stop recording for the time being and part company with Terry has come as a massive shock," a source is said to have told the paper.
"Ever since she broke into the charts in the '80s, Terry has been the man behind the scenes. But now Kylie is saying she wants to pull back from the pressures that come with a music career.
"She says she's determined to devote more time both to herself and to her career as an actress."
It is claimed that Minogue parted ways with her manager because he and her father Ron had different opinions on where her ca! reer should go, causing tensions.
However, since publication of The Mirror's article, the star has seemingly contradicted it, tweeting: "#lovers #notquitting."
Minogue and Jason Donovan last month performed their classic hit 'Especially for You' together on stage for the first time in 23 years.
Minogue first found fame as an actress on Neighbours in 1986, where she played Charlene Robinson.
