They may have been the sunshine couple of Neighbours, but the rain has put paid to the reunion of Kylie Minogue and Jason Donovan as their appearance has been cancelled due to the venue becoming unsafe.
The pair were set to perform together for the first time in twenty years at Londons Hyde Park, but the constant heavy rain of the last few weeks has rendered the park a mud-bath and led organisers to pull the plug on the concert on safety ground.
The Hit Factory show was set to star some of Pete Watermans most famous protgs from the last three decades, but the grounds were said to be unfit this morning after being churned up during the Wireless Festival last weekend.
The statement said, The potential risk to staff and music fans was too great for the event to go ahead.
On the cancellation, Minogue said, I am so sorry to hear that the concert tomorrow had to be cancelled. I feel for all the fans who had bought tickets to this special event.
"Jason and I were rehearsed and excited to share this moment with everyone."
The Royal Parks and promoters Live Nation apologised for the disappointment caused by the cancellation, but advised that safety of fans made it a unanimous decision.
Refunds will now be given for all tickets.
