Talk of X Factor role for Kylie

Producers of Britain's X Factor are planning talks with Kylie Minogue, hoping to convince the Aussie singer to join the show's judging panel, reports the Sunday Express. The move would see Minogue, 44, follow in the footsteps of her younger sister Dannii, 41, who left the popular talent program in 2010 citing Australian TV commitments. X Factor bosses would hope big name Kylie would bring a much-needed boost to the show's ratings. During an interview this week Minogue's boyfriend, Spanish model Andres Velencoso, admitted the couple are big fans of X Factor. Asked about such a role, Melbourne-born Minogue has said in the past: 'I've been there and never had anyone to hold my hand, so it would be quite nice to do that for someone else.'

Kylie Minogue in awe of Aguilera

Kylie Minogue is happy to admit she will "never sound" like Christina Aguilera. The Australian singer is celebrating 25 years in the music industry this year. She is proud of all she has achieved and loves her voice even if she can't match the vocal gymnastics of other successful musicians. "I will never sound like Christina Aguilera, but that's OK. I have pipes!" she laughed to Closer magazine. The 44-year-old star is famed for her extravagant stage shows, which usually include many costume changes. She has performed in corsets by Dolce & Gabbana in the past and in heavy headdresses and says people should be impressed by how easy she makes it look. "And you think strutting around on stage in seven-inch heels and a dress I can barely balance in while walking over five semi-clad men is easy? Think again!" she laughed. Kylie has notched up over 68 million record sales worldwide during her career and has won BRIT and Grammy Awards. Cover Media

Local News: Kylie Minogue & Nick Cave together again

Image
Sun 28th Oct, 2012 in Local News Kylie Minogue and Nick Cave have worked together again to re-record their 1995 hit, Where the Wild Roses Grow. The new version is featured on Minogues latest album The Abbey Road Sessions , which was recorded at the iconic London studio thats been used by everyone from The Beatles to, more recently, Lady Gaga and Florence and the Machine. The Abbey Road Sessions features reworked versions of many of Minogues hit songs recorded with a full orchestra, including Confide In Me, Cant Get You Out of My Head, and The Loco-Motion. The new version of Where the Wild Roses Grow doesnt add any orchestration, however, instead stripping it back to just acoustic guitar, drums, and voice. It introduced Cave to a broader audience and also helped make it OK to admit to liking Kylie Minogue in the 1990s when authenticity was king and people could stil

Kylie Minogue Ewww - Bear Grylls makes Kylie eat MAGGOTS on TV!

Thankfully, this ISN'T Kylie indicating the size of the maggot she swallowed Rex We know celebrities are prone to chowing down on all manner of weird and wonderful things, but when we heard about Kylie Minogue popping maggots (yes, MAGGOTS) into her mouth, it made us feel more than a little queasy. Thankfully, this isn't the latest A-list fad diet. Instead, Kyls was simply taking part in a not-very-fun-sounding game for The Jonathan Ross Show, which airs on ITV1 this evening. With Bear 'I Like To Drink My Own Wee' Grylls also on the bill, the pint-sized pop star should have guessed that there would be some yuckiness in store. For once, Bear seems to fear for his life Rex Along with host Jonathan, Russell Howard and Matt Bellamy from Muse, Kylie plays a game of 'Bear's Bullseye', which sees the guests fire a bow and arrow at a spinning target featuring

Kylie Minogue - The Abbey Road Sessions album review

Teen pop princess Kylie, indie chick Kylie, disco queen Kylie - in the 25 years since Australia's biggest cultural icon said goodbye forever to Charlene the mechanic, the youngest Minogue sister hasn't exactly been afraid to reinvent herself. But in the latest celebration of her quarter-centenary as a superstar, The Abbey Road Sessions is the first time we've truly seen jazz chanteuse Kylie. For with this alternative take on her recent Greatest Hits compilation, the pop icon has stepped inside the famous studio to record 15 radical interpretations (plus new track 'Flower') of her most beloved songs with a full orchestra. The Stock Aitken and Waterman-produced chart-topper, 'I Should Be So Lucky,' is therefore transformed into a lush string-soaked torch song. The Balearic vocal house of 'On A Night Like This' is turned into a bluesy cabaret number. And the shimmering electro of 'All The Lovers' is reworked as a romantic slice of chamber pop. I

Royal Watch News Oct 25, 2012, 11:01 GMT Kylie Minogue Kylie Minogue performed for Britain's Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla ahead of their tour of Australia next month. The Australian-born singer - who now lives in London - believes the country will offer the royals a 'warm welcome' when they tour the region to conclude Queen Elizabeth's Diamond Jubilee celebrations, on what will be Camilla's first trip to Australia. Kylie told the BBC: 'I hope she has a beautiful warm welcome. I know that they will both enjoy the hospitality Australia offers. I'm sure currently at the other end of the earth they are planning the best time for them. I hope they enjoy it.' However, fellow Aussie Barry Humphreys - best known as his alter-ego Dame Edna - joked he was worried the country's prime minister Julia Gillard, a known anti-monarchist, would not curtsey to the royals as was protocol, and urged someone to hit her 'behind the knees' if she didn't. Minogue took to the stage to perform three songs, including her classic hit The Loco-motion, for the Prince and his wife. After the set, Minogue, who now resides in Britain, said, "It's been such a brilliant year to be in the U.K. and so to send the royals off on this trip it felt fitting to be part of the farewell for them. "I was very honoured to be asked and happy I could put it in the schedule. It was really great." Kylie Minogue wants a family

Kylie said: "It would be lovely [to have children], but if it's not to be I've got three nephews who I absolutely adore. "In a way I feel like a have a family because I have so many people surrounding me. And the concept of a traditional family is something we're all well past. So maybe I'll have a family one day? It would be lovely." The 44-year-old singer revealed she loves nothing more than playing with her young nephews and regularly keeps in touch via internet video calling service Skype so they don't forget about her when she is travelling the world on tour. Kylie Minogue: 'Musical will take a long time'

Kylie Minogue has warned fans they face an extended wait before she debuts her stage musical as she's determined to take her time and "get it right". The Australian pop star had hoped to unveil a production inspired by her greatest hits this year, but she was sidetracked with celebrations to mark her 25 years in music. Minogue is adamant the project is still in the works, but she admits it will take her some time to bring her ideas to life. She says, "It actually took a bit of a back seat because so many other things are happening. But it's lurking. I think it's going to happen one way or another. It won't happen until I have got another album done. I was warned it would take a long time and now I'm understanding that. "You can't present a musical which is going to cost however much to do, and then go, 'Actually, forget that one, here's a new improved one.' You've got to take your time and get it right." Kylie Minogue likes to wear her "boss hat" on tour

Speaking in a radio interview, Kylie said: "I get excited seeing the trucks. I've got 26. I think my first tour was one minivan with everything in it, so I can see how far I've come. "I don't watch my shows back, I would send me into a spin. I often have to put my boss hat on, because particularly with the dancers they are excitable, and I have to be the meanie once in a while." "But otherwise I think I'm a pretty good boss. It's my show, and if it's good, Kylie did a good show, and if it's not good, Kylie did not do a good show. And I praise everyone I work with, they know I really respect their work and I like to have a happy environment. I like to know who every member of the crew is." The petite pop star admits touring can be exhausting and she often suffers from anxiety even though she is a lot more confident in her vocal ability than she was when she first started out.
