Kylie Minogue calls police on "deluded weirdo" from Twitter

Kylie Minogue has issued a warning to a "deluded" Twitter user.

The 43-year-old Australian singer, who is currently celebrating her 25th year in the music industry, announced on the microblogging website that she has contacted police about an internet user who threatened her.

Minogue wrote on her page: "I love 1,033,861 of you LOVERS, but 1 is not a lover, just a deluded weirdo making threat #andthatdoesnotmakeyouspecial SO.. police alerted (sic)."

The musician's followers immediately jumped to their idol's defence, with one writing: "Whoever the weirdo is I hope he (I assume its a he) gets what he deserves." Another wrote: "1,033,861 are now looking for the 1 deluded weirdo. We got your back. Stay sparkly."

She later thanked her fans for their support, writing: "LOVERS you know who you are!"

Minogue was forced to call the police in 2003 to investigate 700 threatening letters sent to her home and office.
