BBC's 1m bid for Kylie Minogue

The staggering deal will cause a major backlash as the hard-up Beeb axes 2,000 workers and ditches programmes to save cash.

But it could've been worse. Her original demand was 2.5MILLION.

The new offer would put Kylie, 43, on double what Bruce Forsyth gets for the BBC's biggest show, Strictly Come Dancing and twice what ITV pay Tulisa for X Factor.

A BBC source confirmed the offer was close to 1m, adding: "We won't break the bank for anyone."

A Kylie deal could stop heavily-tipped rapper Will.i.am being on The Voice, because the show can't afford both. But Jessie J has already signed as a judge and chart legend Tom Jones is on the verge.

A Beeb worker said: "Great. Kylie gets another million quid, we get the sack."
