Kylie Minogue is reportedly making plans to celebrate her 25 years in the music industry.

The singer is thought to have started organising a string of events for 2012 to mark 25 years since her debut single 'The Locomotion' was released back in 1987.

According to The Mirror, the star has started work on her 12th studio album and will allegedly return with "a more orchestral sound".

Along with the new material, the 43-year-old is said to be planning an "all-singing all-dancing ITV1 special" to celebrate her career, which spans over four different decades.

Minogue reached number two in the UK singles chart with 'The Locomotion' back in 1987, while her second cut 'I Should Be So Lucky' marked her first number one hit in the same year.

The Australian performer has since gone on to sell over 68 million records worldwide, as well as selling out a collection of flamboyant world tours.

Minogue recently collected an honorary degree from Anglia Ruskin University for her efforts in promoting breast cancer awareness.
