Minogue helps honour British comic talent

Singer Kylie Minogue and Dame Helen Mirren added a touch of glamour to the British Comedy Awards on Friday by turning out to honour the cream of the crop.

The annual event in London celebrates the UK's biggest comedy talents on stage and TV, and was presented by Jonathan Ross.

Pop superstar Minogue gave the actors of hit show The Inbetweeners the trophy for Outstanding Achievement after the series' big screen adaptation proved to be a major success at the box office earlier this year.

Dame Helen was also on hand to award the team behind hit current affairs show Have I Got News For You the Lifetime Achievement title.

Veteran comedian Victoria Wood was honoured with the prize for Best Female Television Comic, while There's Something About Mary star Lee Evans went home with The Channel 4 award for Special Contribution to Comedy.

Best TV Comedy Actress went to Miranda Hart for her popular sitcom Miranda, while Graham Norton was named Best Comedy Entertainment Personality for his self-titled UK chat show.
