Weekly Chart Notes: Kylie Minogue's 9th No. 1 Dance Hit, Scissor Sisters' 'Kiki' Debuts

Pop/dance diva Kylie Minogue scores her sixth No. 1 in a row on Dance Club/Play Songs as "Timebomb" jumps 2-1 this week. In total, the singer has earned nine leaders out of 17 overall entries. Her first No. 1 was "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" in 2002.

SCISSOR SISTERS' 'KIKI' KRAZE: Two weeks ago, Billboard reported about how a fan-made viral video for the Scissor Sisters ' album cut "Let's Have a Kiki" was stirring sales gains for the song. Well, now the song has turned into an official single -- for dance clubs -- and it debuts on the Dance/Club Play chart this week.

"Let's Have a Kiki" enters at No. 30 on the tally, granting the band its fourth Dance hit. The quartet has notched a pair of No. 1s with "Filthy Gorgeous" (2005) and "Fire With Fire" (2010) while hitting No. 5 with its last single, "Only the Horses."

The song has had official remixes serviced to dance club by the likes of Almighty, 2 Bears, Olugbenga and Danny Verde.

OLYMPIC MIGHT: The Olympics make their mark on the charts this week, even though the games only got underway in full on Friday, July 27. The soundtrack to the opening ceremony, titled "Isles of Wonder," debuts at No. 136 on the Billboard 200 with 3,000 ! digital- only copies. The physical version of the 36-track set won't street until Aug. 28, more than two weeks after the games end Aug. 12.

On Classical Digital Songs, a number of Olympics-related tracks make waves. At No. 4, John Williams' "Bugler's Dream and Olympic Fanfare Melody" (from the 1984 Olympics) rises 15 slots with a 288% gain in downloads, while two different versions of "Chariots of Fire" (which was featured in the opening ceremony) appear at Nos. 5 and 6. The Williams theme is repeatedly heard throughout NBC's U.S. broadcast of Olympic events, while "Chariots of Fire" was used in a humorous portion of the opening ceremonies, involving the actor Rowan Atkinson.
