Kylie Minogue records orchestral album

Kylie Minogue has given some of the biggest hits from her 25-year chart career an orchestral overhaul.

The Australian pop princess has reworked songs including Can't Get You Out Of My Head, Better The Devil You Know, The Locomotion and I Should Be So Lucky for her new album The Abbey Road Sessions.

The songs, some of which were penned by 80s hit-makers Stock, Aitken and Waterman, have been set to new orchestral arrangements.

She has also worked with Nick Cave on a new version of Where The Wild Roses Grow, with Cave returning to the studio to re-record his vocal on the single, which was initially released in 1995.

At the time the Australian duo seemed an unlikely pairing with clean cut Minogue best known for her pop hits while Cave, a former heroin addict, had spent years working on dark brooding tunes.

Minogue has worked on 16 tracks for the album - which is out on October 29 - including a previously unreleased song titled Flower.

Fans will get to hear the new versions of the tracks when she performs with the BBC Symphony Orchestra at the Proms In The Park on Saturday in London's Hyde Park.
