Kylie Minogue's underwear sells for 5,000

The red silk La Perla lingerie set - comprising of a bustier with lace trim and silk and tulle body - quickly surpassed the predicted 2,000 to 4,000 bid when it went under the hammer at Christie's auction house in London on Tuesday (15.11.11) along with a signed copy of the Kylie 2012 Official Calendar.

The 'All the Lovers' first wore the items during a photo shoot for a charity calendar and proceeds from the auction will benefit the StudyVox Foundation, the charitable branch of StudyVox FM Radio, which aims to "empower charities to have their voices heard by providing its radio broadcasting facilities at cost".

The lingerie was sold as part of the Pop Culture: Rock and Pop Memorabiliaauction which also included a rare signed copy of the album'The Man Who Sold The World', by David Bowie and a black leather waistcoat worn by Johnny Cash.
