Kylie Minogue to headline at Sydney's Mardi Gras this year
The Australian singer, who last performed at the event 14 years ago, said that singing on a float during the Oxford Street parade feels like the perfect way to mark her 25th anniversary in the music industry.
Minogue said in a statement: "I am coming home for Mardi Gras this year! I simply cannot wait, and it's going to be a beautiful way to celebrate 25 years of this relationship. Your support over the years has just been phenomenal and I can't wait to come home and share that with you. So see you in March."
Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras CEO Michael Rolik told AAP: "I think people will be packing their bags from around the country and the world. It's the biggest float we've ever produced."

Details of Minogue's float will remain a secret even from the pop singer herself, with Rolik saying: "It's still very much under wraps. We're going to keep very tight-lipped. It's a surprise for Kylie."
He said of Minogue: "She's uniquely Au! stralian and so are we. Kylie's spoken out about marriage equality and equal love. We absolutely love her and we're really thrilled she's coming back."
New South Wales minister for tourism, major events and the arts George Souris also said: "The presence of Kylie Minogue is sure to make this the biggest and best Sydney Mardi Gras ever."
