KYLIE Minogue's hit single Can't Get You Out of My Head has been crowned Britain's top tune of the Noughties.

The song won first place in a British poll of the most-played songs of the past decade.

The 2001 smash was followed by Britney Spears' Toxic in the survey by PRS (Performing Right Society) For Music, Britain's association of composers, songwriters and music publishers.

Both songs were the brainchild of songwriter Cathy Dennis.

Robbie Williams' biggest solo hit, Angels, was named the third most popular.

PRS dipped into its archives to work out which songs had been played and performed the most.

Finishing the top five were Jamelia's Superstar and Liberty X's Just A Little. The five altogether were played more than 875 million times in the decade.
