Kylie Minogue promises "20 minutes of goodness" at Mardi Gras show

Kylie Minogue has arrived in Sydney ahead of this weekend's Mardi Gras celebrations.

The Australian singer, who is headlining at the gay and lesbian event for the first time in 14 years, said that she could not wait to start rehearsing for her performance.

As she walked through Sydney Airport, Minogue told The Daily Telegraph: "I'm super excited."

She was also asked if she still considers herself a true Aussie because she lives in the UK, to which she replied: "Course I am! I always say that."

Minogue hosted a soiree last night (March 1) at the Sheraton on the Park Hotel, attended by stars such as Little Britain's Matt Lucas and fellow Mardi Gras performer Sam Sparro.

She told the Star Observer: "It's going to go by in a flash, because the show will be a pretty fast-paced 20 minutes of goodness. It was really hard to choose what to do in that 20 minutes, because I can't do everything."

Minogue added: "I! 'm sure there's going to be some people saying, 'Why didn't she do this?' or 'Why didn't she do that?' But it's a celebration; I could go there and sing everyone's name in the hall, and we'd still have a good time.

"My understanding of having a gay following started in Sydney, so it feels poetic to come back and celebrate that."
